Tour itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Ulaanbaatar
Today you will arrive at Ulaanbaatar International Airport. Upon arrival, you will be met by a representative who will welcome you and you start your journey to the city, and proceed to your accommodation where you will freshen up before heading out for a short city tour. During the city tour, you will visit the Gandan Monastery and the museum of national history. After the short city tour, you will be heading back to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Amarbayasgalant Monastery
After breakfast, you will depart to the famous Amarbayasgalant Monastery with a lunch enroute. You will take a tour around the monastery, located at the foot of Burenkhaan mountain, Amarbayasgalant or "Monastery of Tranquil Felicity”, which is one of the largest and most important monasteries in Mongolia. Built between 1727 and 1736 with more than 40 temples in honor of Zanabazar, the first Bogd Gegeen (Spiritual leader of Mongolian Buddhism), it is one of the very few monasteries to have partly escaped the destruction of 1937, after which only the buildings of the central section remained. In the evening transfer to the camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Iven Valley - Khutag-Undur
After breakfast, you will be departing towards Khovsgol Lake. You will overnight in Khutag-Undur as the drive will be too long. Lunch will be served en route. Dinner and overnight at a ger camp.

Day 4: Khutag-Undur - Khovsgol Lake
After breakfast, you will continue your trip to Khovsgol Lake. Khovsgol Lake - itself is one of the natural wonders of the world covering an area of 2.760 km2. It is a land of taiga forest, crystal-clear lakes, icy streams, and lush grass. Magnificent surroundings will make your 2 nights stay enjoyable.  Walking along the lakeshore and hiking in vicinity areas. Dinner and overnight at the camp.

Day 5: Khovsgol Lake
You will have a full day to explore more of Khovsgol Lake. You can go for hikes or walks along the lakeshore. Dinner and overnight at the camp.

Day 6: Khovsgol Lake - Shine-Ider Village
After breakfast, you will leave Khovsgol Lake after walking along the shore and have lunch at Murun town. After lunch drive to Shine-Ider village. Dinner and overnight at the camp.

Day 7: Shine-Ider Village - Khorgo-Terkhiin Tsagaan Nuur NP
After breakfast you will head out to explore Khorgo-Terkhiin Tsagaan Nuur NP. An astonishingly beautiful freshwater lake surrounded by extinct volcanoes at an altitude of 2.060m/ 6760ft. The lake is 16km / 10 miles wide and 10m/ 32ft deep with its deepest point at 28 meters / 92 ft and over 20 kilometers / 12 miles in length. It has lovely sandy shores and enough warm water which is perfect for swimming. The area offers a great adventure for visitors with its caves, mountain cliffs, and Khorgo volcano creator. Explore the lake and the volcano creator.

Day 8: Tsenkher Hot Spring
After breakfast, you will depart to Tsenkher Hot Springs & Spa, which is located in the middle of forested hills and breathtaking mountains. Enjoy the nature and hot spa after a long drive. You can discuss options for exploring the local area with your tour guide. Dinner and overnight at your camp.

Day 9: Tsenkher Hot Spring - Kharkhorin
After breakfast, you will drive to Kharkhorin – ruins of the ancient capital of the Mongolian Empire built by Ugudei Khaan in 1235. The city was strategically located at the crossroads of traditional routes, creating a staging post for migrating nomads. The bricks and stones from the ruins of this ancient city were used to build the Erdene Zuu Monastery nearby, so in that way, the old city lives on till today. You will pay a visit to the monastery before heading to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Day 10: Kharkhorin - Ongi Monastery
After breakfast, you will drive to the south towards the Gobi Desert. Overnight stop at Ongi River and Saikhan ovoo area of Middle Gobi province. Ongi Monastery, once the monastery which served as a midway point for Buddhist pilgrimages going to Tibet. Enjoy the sunset from the top of the mountain. Dinner and overnight at your camp.

Day 11: Ongi Monastery - Bayanzag
After breakfast, you will drive towards Bayanzag, which is famous for its classic desert of rock, red sands, and unbelievable emptiness. Bayanzag is also known to the world as the "Cemetery of Dinosaurs”. The red sandstone cliffs and canyons of Bayanzag are where the American paleontologist Roy Chapman Andrews first discovered fossil beds of dinosaur bones and the first-ever recorded dinosaur eggs in 1922. You will visit a local museum which displays important facts and some exhibits of this famous area, a real must-see when in the area. Transfer to your camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 12: Bayanzag - Khongor Sand Dunes
After breakfast, you will be departing to the Khongor Sand Dunes. The sand dunes are the largest and some of the most spectacular ones in Mongolia. The spectacular dunes are bordered by lush green vegetation supported by a small river, named Khongor. You will get an opportunity to hike and slide through the sand dunes. You will also visit a camel breeding family and experience a short camel ride. Dinner and overnight at your camp.

Day 13: Khongor Sand Dunes - Gobi Gurvan Saikhan National Park
After breakfast, you will depart to South Gobi and the Yol Valley, also known as Eagle valley in the Gobi Gurvan Saikhan mountain. The Yol Valley is a sunless canyon located in the middle of Gobi Gurvan Saikhan mountain and has a particular beauty and buzzards and eagles wheel and glide in the blue skies above. The cliffs of the canyon block the sunlight from the rivers below so that they remain frozen throughout the year. In the evening transfer to your camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 14: Gobi Gurvan Saikhan National Parkr - Baga Gazriin Chuluu
After breakfast, you will depart to Baga Gazriin Chuluu in the Dundgobi province. Baga Gazriin Chuluu is an impressive granite rock formation in the middle of the steppe plains. You will get an opportunity to hike in this impressive area for a little while. You will also have an opportunity to participate in different rock climbing activities. In the evening transfer to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Day 15: Baga Gazriin Chuluu - Ulaanbaatar
After breakfast, you will head back to Ulaanbaatar. Upon arrival in the city, you can explore the city on your own or visit the Bogd Khan Palace Museum. You will also have some free time for some shopping and witness a cultural performance in the evening during your farewell dinner.

Day 16: Ulaanbaatar
Today we will take you to the airport for your departure flight.
