Day 1: Arrival at Bandaranayke Int. Airport, transfer to Negombo
Today you will arrive at Bandaranayke International Airport. Upon arrival, you will be met by a representative who will welcome you and you start your journey to Negombo, and proceed to your accommodation overnight.
Day 2: Negombo – Dambulla via Yapahuwa
Early morning, you will have breakfast at your hotel, and proceed to the Yapahuwa Kingdom, a place not yet discovered by the mass tourists. Yapahuwa was one of the ephemeral capitals of medieval Sri Lanka. The citadel of Yapahuwa lying midway between Kurunegala and Anuradhapura was built around a huge granite rock rising abruptly almost a hundred meters above the surrounding lowlands. Later proceed to Dambulla for some time at leisure at your hotel and dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Dambulla – Hiriwadunna and Polonnaruwa - Dambulla
In the morning after breakfast, you will depart to a local village named Hiriwadunna. You will go on an exciting bicycle ride through the back roads of a Habarana village and also you will visit a local farming family. You will end the ride with a delicious Sri Lanka rice & curry lunch in the village. After lunch, you will proceed to the ancient city of Polonnaruwa. The city has many untouched ancient archeological relic sites and recognized as a UNESCO world heritage site. In the late afternoon return to Dambulla for dinner and overnight at your hotel.
Day 4: Dambulla – Sigiriya - Kandy
After breakfast, you will head to Sigiriya to climb The Lion Rock. Sigiriya is a fortress complex of a ruined palace and one of the World Heritage sites declared by UNESCO. Another fascinating detail is its mirror wall. Every step from the entrance to the top is a marvel on its own, and the interesting surroundings make the tedious climb to the top easy. In the afternoon you will proceed to Kandy. Kandy is the popular charming hill capital of Sri Lanka, surrounded by hills, valleys, rivers, lakes, and waterfalls, and is the cultural center of the island and a UNESCO heritage city. You will go for a city tour in Kandy, visit the Temple of the Tooth in the evening and witness a cultural show. In the late afternoon, you will head back to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Kandy
After breakfast, you will be trekking to Heeloya Village to explore a typical Sri Lankan village. You will participate in the daily activities of the locals by engaging in plucking fruits and vegetables for a meal to be prepared according to the local taste. You will also get an opportunity to visit the Heeloya waterfall. In the afternoon you will return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Kandy – Ella
After breakfast, you will be heading to Ella, which is known for its beautiful hill country villages surrounded by mountains, tea plantations, and greenery everywhere you go. Ella is the best place to relax and wind down and enjoy the breathtaking scenery. On the way to Ella, you will make a quick stop at the Ramboda Waterfalls. In Ella, you will visit a tea plantation and a local tea factory where you will experience the tea production process. In the evening you will go on a short trek to Little Adam's Peak before you are heading back to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Ella – Udawalawa
After breakfast, you will proceed to Udawalawa. Upon arrival in Udawalawa, you will go for a safari in the national park in the evening. After you've had some great wildlife sightings, you will head back to your hotel for check-in, dinner, and overnight.
Day 8: Unawatuna / Hikkaduwa / Ahungalla
After breakfast at your hotel, you will leave for the coast to either Unawatuna / Hikkaduwa / Ahungalla for your beach stay. On the way, you can witness stilt fisherman in the Weligama area. Upon arrival, you will check in to your hotel and have a full afternoon for relaxation at the beach.
Day 9: Unawatuna / Hikkaduwa / Ahungalla
Today you have a full day at leisure. The day can spend as per your wishes, either relaxing at the beach or you could opt to visit a turtle hatchery.
Day 10: Unawatuna / Hikkaduwa / Ahungalla - Colombo
Today you will wave goodbye to beautiful Sri Lanka, we will depart you to the airport, where you will catch your departure flight.
