China's Ultimate Journey

Day 1: Arrival Shanghai
Welcome to China! You have just landed in China's most dynamic city, Shanghai. Upon arrival at the airport, you will be greeted by your guide and driver and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is spent at leisure, settling into your new surroundings. Overnight at Metro Park Hotel Hongqiao Shanghai.

Day 2: Shanghai
All day free at leisure to explore this pulsating metropolis. Overnight at Metro Park Hotel Hongqiao Shanghai.

Day 3: Shanghai
After breakfast, you will head into the city to explore its highlights. First stop to be, is Yu Garden, which is a prime example of a classical Chinese garden that dates back to 1559. This tranquil world of bamboo groves, koi-filled ponds and Ming Dynasty pavilions remains a serene sanctuary in contemporary times. After tea time in a nearby teahouse, you will head to Tianzifang, a network of alleyways filled with cafes, bars and boutiques. You will round the day off with a stroll past the European style villas and buildings of the Former French Concession on the Bund waterfront promenade. From here you have a great view on the 632 -metre hight landmark, the Shanghai Tower on the other side of the river. Overnight at Metro Park Hotel Hongqiao Shanghai.

Day 4: Shanghai - Beijing
After breakfast in your hotel, you will be transferred to the train station to hop on the high-speed train from Shanghai to Beijing. Upon arrival in the capital city, you will be taken to your new hotel for the next few days. Take your time to unwind and spend the rest of the day free at leisure. Overnight at Beijing Novotel Peace Hotel. 

Day 5: Beijing
Today is the day to visit one of the seven wonders of the world, the Great Wall of China! After breakfast, you will be taken to a lesser-visited section of the wall, Mutianyu. This part of the wall is more rugged and covered in expansive greenery. Here we can take a leisurely walk to soak in the stunning surroundings and the immensity of this ancient structure. The wall is a remarkable feat of engineering, and archaeologists estimate that it once spanned nearly 10,000 km. After lunch at a local restaurant, we head for a photo stop at Olympic Green Park, where you can see the impressive exteriors of both the Birds Nest Stadium and Water Cube. Overnight at Beijing Novotel Peace Hotel. 

Day 6: Beijing
Full day free at leisure in Beijing. Overnight at Beijing Novotel Peace Hotel. 

Day 7: Beijing - Xi’an
After a slow morning, you will be transferred to the train station to take the high-speed train to Xi’an, once the starting point of the historic Silk Road. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel, with the rest of the day to be spent at leisure. Overnight at Grand Mercure on Renmin Square.

Day 8: Xi’an
Xi'an is mostly famous for its Terracotta Warriors army, which consists of 8,000 figures built under the order of the emperor to accompany him to the afterlife. It is an ancient historic past that dates back over 3,000 years. You will get the chance to visit this ancient place after you have enjoyed a delicious breakfast in your hotel. In the afternoon you will be taken to visit the Small Wild Goose Pagoda. Overnight at Grand Mercure on Renmin Square.

Day 9: Xi’an - Chengdu
Bid a fond farewell to Xi’an as you set off on the next leg of your adventure to Chengdu, the capital of south-west Sichuan province and known for its adorable giant pandas. You will reach the city by high-speed train. Upon arrival, transfer and check-in at the hotel, with the rest of the day at leisure to explore your new surroundings. Overnight at Chengdu Tibet Hotel. 

Day 10: Chengdu
Get up close and personal today with Chengdu’s famed residents at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding. In total, there are fewer than 2,000 giant pandas out in the wild – of which 70% are distributed across Sichuan. We will head north out of the city to this facility founded in 1987 to see giant pandas rescued from the wild. Researchers and those who care for the wellbeing and preservation of these creatures will give an insight into what they have achieved over the years and you will witness their uncompromising commitment to conserving the population out in the wild and the healthy growth of the captive population. After lunch at a local restaurant, it is time for some history as you visit Sanxingdui Archaeological Site and Museum, the Sanxingdui culture left no written record or human remains and appears to have existed for only about 500 years before it vanished. Overnight at Chengdu Tibet Hotel.

Day 11: Chengdu - Guilin - Yangshuo
In the morning you will have some extra time to explore Chengdu on your own. Afterwards, you will take the high-speed train to your next destination, Guilin. Guilin is situated in the southern Guangxi region and is one of China’s most beautiful locations. It features rugged karst mountains and meandering waterways that snake through an idyllic rural countryside of rice terraces. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to Yangshuo, where your hotel is located. The rest of the day is spent free at leisure. Overnight at Yangshuo Mountain Retreat Hotel.

Day 12: Yangshuo
Free day at leisure in Yangshuo.Yangshuo is the place to be active if you are up to it. The area is perfect for activities such as hiking, biking, bamboo rafting, etc. Overnight at Yangshuo Mountain Retreat Hotel.

Day 13: Yangshuo - Guilin - Hong Kong
From this beautiful nature area it is time to move on to the metropolis, Hong Kong. You will take another high-speed train to reach Hong Kong. Upon arrival, you will meet your guide and driver, who will take you to your next hotel. Overnight at Metropark Kowloon Hotel. 

Day 14: Hong Kong
All day free at leisure to explore this metropolis. You can enjoy the best of both here, with incredible vistas courtesy of the renowned Victoria Harbour and mountainous terrain, as well as man-made attractions for a fun-filled day out. Take your pick from adventure theme parks, novelty museums, and thrilling activities. Overnight at Metropark Kowloon Hotel. 

Day 15: Hong Kong - Departure
After a full 2 weeks of traveling through China, this incredible journey has come to an end. Filled with a bag full of memories, you will be taken to the airport for your departure flight.
