Best of Gorillas

Day 1: Arrival at Kigali, transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Today you will arrive at Kigali International Airport on an early morning flight. Upon arrival, you will be met by a representative who will welcome you and you start your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park crossing the border of Rwanda and Uganda, and proceed to Lake Mulehe Safari Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking
After breakfast with your packed lunch, your guide will drive you to the park headquarters for a briefing about the dos and don’ts during your gorilla trekking. Your gorilla family tracking will start immediately after the briefing. This is a memorable and amazing experience watching the Mountain gorillas feed, play around, and also do their day-to-day activities. This activity can take 2 hours or even up to 8 hours since it's dependent on the location and movement of the gorillas. Also, expect to walk long distances in muddy and steep conditions- this will require you to have a walking stick. On meeting the gorillas, you will spend one hour with them as you take photos. Later, trek back to the park headquarters to pick your certificates and return back to the lodge. In the evening, you may choose to relax at the lodge or visit the Gorilla clinic. Dinner and overnight at Lake Mulehe Safari Lodge.

Day 3: 2nd Gorilla trekking or optional activities
After breakfast, you will choose to go for a second Gorilla trekking or alternatively take part in the different activities available like; Batwa community visit which will expose you to their culture based on how they live, dance, and also hearing stories concerning their culture which will leave you amazed; Forest walk in Bwindi Impenetrable forest. A forest walks in Bwindi rewards travellers with an exclusive feeling of a natural virgin forest, sweet melodies of birds singing up in the trees as well a close encounter with wild animals such as mountain gorillas, baboons, vervet monkeys, L’Hoest’s Guenon, nocturnal, duikers, giant forest hogs and bush pigs. Among others, Golden Monkey Trekking in Mt. Mgahinga National Park (While staying at Lake Muleha Safari Lodge). The Golden Monkeys are a species of a Widespread Skyes Monkey also known as the Blue Monkey. They are beautiful to look at mainly because of their colors. Dinner and overnight at Lake Mulehe Safari Lodge.

Day 4: Drive to Kigali airport for your departure flight
After breakfast, you will be transferred back to Kigali. Upon arrival and time allowing, you will go for a city tour of Kigali where you will visit the Genocide museum. Thereafter proceed to the airport for your departure flight.
