Our Essence of the Holy Land will take you to Jordan and Israel, where you will visit many of the countries' highlights, including Wadi Rum, Petra, Bethlehem, Nazareth, and the Dead Sea.
Day 1: Amman
Upon arrival at Queen Alia International Airport, your guide will be waiting for you and transfer you to Le Grand Amman for free time at leisure.
Day 2: Amman - Wadi Rum
After breakfast, you will be leaving for Wadi Rum desert but you will make several stops on the way. Your first stop will be in Madaba to visit St. George’s Greek Orthodox Church, then drive to Mount Nebo, which is the memorial of Prophet Moses. Later you will be heading to visit Machaerus, where John the Baptist was imprisoned and beheaded. Then you will proceed to visit Kerak Castle, before continuing to Wadi Rum. After your arrival in Rum, you'll go out to explore the desert in a 4x4 pick-up for a couple of hours before heading back to the camp for dinner. After dinner, you can decide to sleep in a martian tent, which is optional. The Martian tents are special because you will be able to stargaze while relaxing on your bed. Overnight at Sun City Camp.
Day 3: Petra – Amman
After breakfast, you will be leaving for Petra! The Nabateans carved this city in stone with simple tools 1500 years ago, and nothing will prepare you for the beauty and the sheer size of Al Khazna! After some time spent at leisure in Petra, you will be transferred back to Amman for dinner and overnight at Le Grand Amman.
Day 4: Massada / Qumran / Tiberius
After breakfast, you will be leaving for Israel. You will be transferred to Allenby Bridge, to cross the border into Israel where your new guide and driver will be waiting for you. You will leave to Massada, ascend by cable car to the top of the mountain, then back to Qumran to visit the caves of the Dead Sea Scrolls. Upon arrival in Tiberius, you will check in to Leonardo Plaza and spend the rest of the evening at leisure.
Day 5: Tiberius – Sea of Galilee – Nazareth
After breakfast, you will leave for a boat trip on the Sea of Galilee. After the boat trip, you will visit the Mount of the Beatitudes, Tabgha, and Capernaum. After lunch, you will continue your journey to Nazareth via Cana de Galilea. Upon arrival you will visit the Basilica of the Annunciation, the Carpintería de José and the Fuente de la Virgen. In the evening, transfer to Leonardo Plaza for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Jerusalem & Bethlehem
After breakfast, you will go and explore the New City of Jerusalem. You will visit the Book Sanctuary in the Israel Museum, where the manuscripts of the Dead Sea and the Model representing the City of Jerusalem in the time of Jesus are on display. You will also pay a visit to the Holocaust Museum. After lunch, you will continue towards Ein Karem, to visit the Shrines of the Visitation of Maria to her Prima Isabel and of San Juan Bautista. In the afternoon, you will depart to Bethlehem, the birthplace of Jesus Christ. In Bethlehem, you will visit the Church of the Nativity, the Grotto of San Jerónimo, and the Church of Santa Catalina. In the evening, you will be transferred to Leonardo Plaza for dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Jerusalem - Mount of Olives – Dead Sea
After breakfast, you will be departing to the Mount of Olives, to enjoy a panoramic tour of the walled city. Afterward, you will visit the Gethsemane Garden and Basilica of the Agony. You will visit the Wailing Wall and continue through the Via Dolorosa to reach Golgotha, the place of the crucifixion of Jesus and the Holy Sepulcher. Along the Via Dolorosa, there are 14 stations, in each station, there is a chapel or sign that illustrates the episode. After lunch, you will continue to Mount Sion, where the Tomb of King David and the Cenacle is located, the place of the Last Supper "The Eucharist" and "Pentecost", later you will cross back to Jordan, to the Dead Sea. You will spend the rest of the evening at leisure at the Dead Sea at the Movenpick hotel.
Day 8: Amman
Today you will meet your guide at the hotel lobby for your transfer to Queen Alia International airport for your departure flight.
